Encouraging the pursuit of knowledge and not concealing it in Islam

Abstract

Thanks to knowledge, creation is able to know the Creator, who made seeking knowledge an obligation in Islam. Therefore, the importance of this research lies in its connection with the reality of the life of a Muslim person, which requires specifying the reasons for my choice of this topic, the most prominent of which is: an attempt to highlight the virtue of knowledge and the evidence that encourages seeking it and not concealing it. Although it may be possible to conceal it at some circumstances, although agreed upon, are that it is not permissible to conceal knowledge. Thus, the problem of the topic is the attempt to determine the extent to which Islam encourages seeking knowledge and not concealing it. There is no doubt that such a topic has been dealt with in previous studies related to the issue of science and the positions of scientists on issues of life in general. Therefore, one of the most prominent results that can be mentioned is that: We must know what is obligatory for every Muslim man and woman, in addition to what is sufficient knowledge that his request has been dropped. It is possible to confirm something about the possibility of distinguishing between science, knowledge, perception, and ignorance in this research, so that we can discover whether Islam has made clear its position on the possibility of concealing knowledge. In any case, it is necessary to seek knowledge and disseminate human knowledge according to academic research standards and rules.
