UPAFA Revue des Sciences et Technologies (URST) is an international peer reviewed, online multidisciplinary research journal. URST is a journal, covering in general Engineering and Technology, Social Sciences, Health, Law, Philosophy, Theology, Litterature and Human Sciences and related fields aiming to promote and publish original high quality research.

Publication Ethics

Editorial Board Member(s)/Reviewer(s) make sure that only original and good quality research is published in this journal. The researchers who want to publish their research content must need to follow the best practices and guidelines with respect the following main points:

  • The research content must be original
  • The research content must not be published elsewhere or submitted elsewhere for publication.
  • There must not be any spelling and grammatical errors in the research content.
  • The research should have been conducted in an ethical and responsible manner and should comply with all relevant legislation.
  • Researchers should present their results clearly, honestly and without fabrication, falsification or inappropriate data manipulation.
  • Researchers need to describe their methods clearly so that their findings can be confirmed by others.
  • The research content must be accurate, consistent, complete and without biases.
  • Research content must not be misleading, hateful, crime inspiring, pornographic, defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, vulgar.
  • Research content must not contain or promote electronic malware/virus for destructive purpose.
  • Copyright material should be reproduced only with appropriate permission and acknowledgment.
  • Personally identifiable information of people other than the researchers should be avoided without their consent.

Peer Review & Plagiarism

Policies Peer Review Policies

All the research articles submitted to our online journal, URST are double blindly peer reviewed. In this process, the reviewers and the researchers/authors have no idea about each others, and so it ensures that the review is unbiased.

As reviewers coming from all around the world in different disciplines, they can review the submitted research of any discipline and written in any spoken language. Review and Publication Process

  • One of editors, generally corresponding to the discipline of the submitted research work, will quickly overview the research. 
  • The research may be rejected without peer review if it is not found of enough good quality. 
  • After the quick overview, the research is sent to the reviewer having the knowledge of corresponding subject and language. 
  • The selected reviewer will need to review the research paper considering various criteria. The following criteria are observed and points are calculated (out of total 20) for each criterion: 
    1. Relevance of Title and Research
    2. Scholarly Quality
    3. Continuity in the Research
    4. Use of Theory
    5. Particularity and Originality
    6. Technical Contents and Correctness
    7. Understanding and Illustrations
    8. Critical Qualities
    9. Quality of References
    10. Clarity of Conclusions and recommendations
  • The article may be sent back to the authors/researchers for revision with suggestions if the reviewer thinks any changes are required. 
  • The revision must be done by researchers/authors within a two weeks otherwise they will need to re-submit the research and all the review process will be re-initiated from beginning considering it as a new submission. 
  • The research project is accepted for publication if the total score of the review is greater than or equal to 75%. 
  • After the peer review process is completed positively, one of the editors will finally edit the research project, if required, before finally publishing it. 

Plagiarism Policies

To ensure that original and good quality research project is published, using of computer software to check for plagiarism in the submitted content has adopted. Plagiarism Checker X for plagiarism detection is using. It can check references mentioned in the research and various online sources for content duplication.

Research project having more than 15% plagiarism are not published, and authors are informed with the analysis report.

Duties of the editor and editorial board: 

  • Publication decisions: The editor of the URST is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published and the editorial board makes the final decision about the research project to be published. The editor may consult with the editorial board or reviewers in decision-making. 
  • Open-mindedness: The editor should evaluate research project for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors. 
  • Confidentiality: The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, as appropriate.

Duties of Reviewers: 

  • Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and through the editorial communications with the author may also assist the author in improving the research project. 
  • Standards of Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Referees should express their views clearly with supporting arguments. 
  • Disclosure and Conflict of Interest: Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal interest. Reviewers should not consider research project in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the research project.

Duties of Authors: 

  • Reporting standards: Authors should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately in the research project. A research project should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior are unacceptable. 
  • Originality and Plagiarism: The authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others that this has been appropriately cited or quoted. Plagiarism takes many forms, from ‘passing off’ another’s research project as the author’s own research work, to copying or paraphrasing substantial parts of another’s work, to claiming results from research conducted by others. Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable. 
  • Multiple, Redundant or Concurrent Publication: An author should not, in general, publish work describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same project to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable. 
  • Acknowledgment of Sources: Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work. Information obtained privately, as in conversation, correspondence, or discussion with third parties, must not be used or reported without explicit, written permission from the source. Information obtained in the course of confidential services, such as refereeing manuscripts or grant applications, must not be used without the explicit written permission of the author of the work involved in these services. 
  • Authorship of the Research project: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. Where there are others who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they should be acknowledged or listed as contributors. The corresponding author should ensure that all appropriate co-authors and no inappropriate co-authors are included on the project. 
  • Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: All the authors should disclose in their project any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed. 
  • Fundamental errors in published works: When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the research project.
